Cohorts to Clinics

Translating data and research to patient care.

Join us in our mission to bridge the gap between genomic research and clinical application, improving patient care worldwide.

Introducing the "Cohorts to Clinics " Program

Welcome to the Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative’s exciting new initiative: the Cohorts to Clinics (C2C) program. This groundbreaking effort represents a transformative leap in our mission to bridge the gap between genomic research and clinical application, ensuring that the insights gained from comprehensive cohort studies lead directly to improved patient care worldwide.

Uniting Forces for Greater Impact

By fostering closer collaboration between IHCC and G2MC, the Cohorts to Clinics program aims to harness the vast potential of genomic data collected from global cohorts. The program is designed to:

  1. Integrate Efforts: Streamline the flow of data from large-scale genomic studies directly into clinical practice, ensuring that the latest research findings are rapidly and effectively utilized in medical treatments.

  2. Enhance Precision Medicine: Develop and implement new protocols, tools, and strategies to tailor medical treatments to individual genetic profiles, improving patient outcomes and revolutionizing healthcare delivery.

Key Program Components

  • Collaborative Research Projects: Launch joint research initiatives that leverage the strengths of both consortia to address critical health challenges and translate genomic discoveries into therapeutic innovations.

To achieve this goal, we are:

    • Matching IHCC cohorts with G2MC clinics to organize implementation teams C2C communities.
    • Utilizing the information you entered in the portal under Member Skills.
    • Encouraging members who have C2C project ideas to submit them through the Project Navigator.
  • Data Integration and Sharing: Establish robust systems for the secure and efficient sharing of genomic data between researchers and clinicians, fostering a seamless transition from research to practice.

To achieve this goal, we are:

    • Finding C2C funders and partners to build a shared data environment.
    • Expanding our genomics industry partner program.
  • Educational and Training Initiatives: Provide interdisciplinary training programs for researchers, clinicians, and healthcare providers to build the knowledge and skills necessary to translate cohort discoveries into genomic medicine in clinical settings.

To achieve this goal, we are:

    • Working with the Global Genomics Network in Education and Training (GGNET) organization.
  • Patient and Public Engagement: Engage patients and communities in the research process, fostering trust and ensuring that the ethical, social, and cultural implications of genomic medicine are thoughtfully addressed.

To achieve this goal, we are:

    • Communicating with other national and international genomic organizations, societies, and associations, and all of our members.
